Dear Parents,
Greetings!

“A NEW BEGINNING – A FRESH START AND INFINITE POSSIBILITIES!”

As we stand on the threshold of a new academic session, I extend a very warm welcome to all the parents. Each new academic year is a new height scaled, another dream realized and new targets set for the future. Each member of this institution is devoted to turn your child’s  dreams  & aspirations  into reality through sincerity & perseverance.

The new academic year (2015-2016) is being ushered in with academic excellence in perfect synchronization with the numerous scholastic and co-scholastic activities that have been planned to ensure holistic development of your child. Implementing curriculum woven with Smart Board modules, child centric activities and catering to multiple intelligence is our aim to provide a platform to your child to explore, mould & manifest his innate talents. We expect you to encourage your child to enthusiastically participate in all activities planned.

We are committed to create a learning and teaching environment that is focused on quality learning experiences in a supportive, safe and inclusive school environment. We want to achieve a status that we can feel proud of where learning, successes and achievements in all areas of personal development are of the highest calibre possible. But we as educators, teachers and staff will need your help and partnership as parents to make this happen. We solicit your support to ensure smooth functioning of the school by taking care of the below mentioned points:

  • Students should reach the school by 7.55 am(no entry for students after 8.00 am)
  • It has been observed that some students go back in between which disturbs the school routine. No short/half day leave will be allowed.
  • Students should turn up neatly in proper school uniform. Kindly ensure that your ward does not use nail polish, clips, danglers, bangles, ornaments etc as they are strictly prohibited in the school.
  • Students should carry Tiffin and Water Bottle with them and all their belongings should be properly labelled.
  • Students should bring their books and notebooks according to the timetable and should maintain them properly.
  • Students should not use abusive language or bully other students. You are requested to  immediately report to the school if your ward is a target of such kind of behaviour.
  • Students to wear House Uniform on every Monday.
  • Students to bring their Almanac daily to school. Kindly check the diary on daily basis and acknowledge the notes given by the teachers.
  • Kindly ensure that all school charges are paid on time so as to avoid any kind of inconvenience..
  • Kindly send the consent slips duly signed as it is essential for your ward’s participation in any kind of activity or tour / trips.
  • As English is the official language of the school, kindly encourage your child to speak in English at home as well.
  • Students are strictly prohibited to carry Mobile Phones, Cameras, CDs, Pen Drives or any other gadgets to school without the permission / circular by school authorities.
  • As PTMs are an essential and mandatory process of a school, you are requested to attend each and every PTM as answer sheets will be shown so that teachers can provide appropriate steps for diagnostic and remedial measures for improvement in child performance and behaviour.

Apart from the school Clubs, the school is planning to start with Astronomy Club (III–IX),  Roboics Club (III – IX) & Abacus Club ( II- VII)  which will be paid clubs and will be held during the school hours. Vidya Bharati School
Homework Policy

VBS assigns relevant, challenging and meaningful homework assignments that reinforce classroom learning objectives, for all students. It provides them with the opportunity to apply information they have learned, complete unfinished class tasks, to work with their parents and develop independence.

Home work may be given as:
1.   Practice Exercises: These help students to remember and practice newly acquired skills - such as memorizing mathematical tables, practicing spelling words, writing essays and reading for pleasure.

2.   Preparatory Homework: This requires students to search for and read and research background information to prepare them for future lessons on a specific subject - such as reading an article on pollution in preparation for a lesson in Environmental Studies.

3.   Extension Assignments: These encourage students to pursue knowledge individually and imaginatively. Assignments may include writing a book review, researching local news or retrieving items from the Internet.

Reinforcement Worksheets in Mathematics may  include the concepts learnt in the previous weeks/ months. The emphasis will be on the number of concepts revised than the quantum of work and should not take the students 20 -30 minutes (depending on their Grade/Level) to accomplish the same.
Projects assigned for Home Work should be creative, age appropriate and relevant to instruction in the classroom. Project work should be purposeful – not busywork and must engage the students more than the parents

Teachers will:
     •   assign homework that is meaningful and useful to individuals
     •   provide appropriate and timely response to all homework assignments
     •   provide a balance between long- range and short- term assignments
     •   give assignments over weekends which are no longer than a daily assignment
     •   monitor long- term assignments in order to avoid last minute student efforts
     •   give clear, concise directions; allow time for student questions; consider availability of materials;provide legible worksheets when used
     •   inform parents of their role in supervising homework

     •   monitor the effectiveness of homework as reflected in student performance
     •   ensure that homework is a relevant extension of work assigned in class.
     •   ensure that all homework is corrected.

Students will:
     •   record the directions for homework
     •   ask questions when necessary to clarify the assignment
     •   follow a schedule and keep materials in order
     •   hand in, on time, neat, accurate, and meaningful products
     •   plan time for completion of long- term assignments
     •   determine and complete homework assigned
